Berlin, 01.09.2014: ePrivacyconsult GmbH certified the data protection compliance for the technology of nugg.ad, Europe’s leading specialist in digital target group marketing and brand engagement measurement, by awarding the ‘ePrivacyseal’. The award, which is based on the EU criteria catalogue for the data protection seal ‘ePrivacyseal’, is valid throughout Europe. It includes the certification of the already accoladed Predictive Behavioural Targeting technology as well as the latest nugg.ad products Audience Analytics, Mobile Solutions, Data Solutions, Location Based Advertising and Programmatic Premium Solutions. The award of the seal also shows that nugg.ad continues to be a Europe-wide pioneer in the field of data protection.
The certification of the nugg.ad Programmatic Premium Solutions is thereby especially relevant for brand-oriented advertisers, as it confirms that targeting and data protection also go hand in hand in the area of programmatic at nugg.ad. The decisive factor therefor was that nugg.ad developed ‘Winnie’ for the machine-to-machine communication associated with programmatic advertising. nugg.ad’s implementation of the pseudonymisation service ‘Winnie’ has made a significant contribution to ensure a data-protection compliant use of these RTA/RTB procedures is possible. ‘Winnie’ is interposed within the communication process by an independent third party, and ensures that no identifiers are shared in their original format. This ensures that all pieces of information that reach the nugg.ad system are completely pseudonymised.
nugg.ad takes various measures to ensure that the privacy of users is compliant with European law at all times. All data is processed exclusively at German data centres in compliance with the appropriate legal framework. Without exception, data obtained from surfing behaviour of users and used for targeting purposes, are collected on the partner’s website and stored in a cookie. The lifetime of the cookie is limited to 26 weeks and can be deleted by the user at any time. nugg.ad does not use any personally identifiable data, such as name, address, email or IP address. The latter is anonymised by a third party company, which neither nugg.ad nor its customers have access to.
