Berlin/London, 18.07.2013: Europe’s leading provider of digital target group marketing and brand engagement measurement, nugg.ad, has gained a well-known face from the German start-up scene for its incubator programme in the shape of Nico Lumma. The experienced online specialist will work for nugg.ad from now on to acquire and promote new business models – in particular data-driven business models. Lumma represents the link between the German start-up scene and nugg.ad. Lumma was previously employed as COO of Digital Pioneers, and as Director of Social Media at Scholz & Friends.
nugg.ad’s incubator programme, which was launched in October 2012, is worlds apart from others of its type. nugg.ad offers a special range of services for incubators, with the aim of acting as the driving force of innovation as well as a promoter of idea generation from the data sector. nugg.ad also focuses its energies in particular on promoting technical start-ups that fit in well with the company’s infrastructure. The key factor is providing added value for the user, whose interests are the central focus, and working out how services and data from advertising activities can benefit the user in other ways to achieve even better solutions.
Nico Lumma is excited about starting his new role: “nugg.ad’s business model for all aspects of data-driven advertising presents me with a fantastic personal challenge. Developing nugg.ad’s incubator programme and equipping it to deal with new challenges means that I am looking for suitable start-up businesses that develop innovative technology.” So Nico Lumma – who was ranked in “Wirtschaftswoche” magazine’s top 100 most influential internet experts in Germany for 2012 – will from now on be setting his sights on start-ups with a unique tech background and an unbeatable idea, with a view to recruiting them for nugg.ad.
nugg.ad CEO Stephan Noller is looking forward to working with Lumma in future: “There is hardly anyone else in the German marketplace who has been providing sterling service for as long as Nico Lumma when it comes to discovering and promoting digital innovations. So we are absolutely delighted that we have managed to recruit him for our incubator programme.”
If a data business idea fits in with the nugg.ad ecosystem, a cooperation agreement is set up to commission the start-up to design/develop services that are useful to all aspects of nugg.ad’s portfolio. At the same time the start-up company is in a position to draw on nugg.ad’s expertise, receive coaching sessions and make use of the nugg.ad infrastructure. Back at the start of the year, thin.gs was the first start-up product to benefit from the support given by nugg.ad’s incubator. The mobile app thin.gs created by start-up The Otherland Group makes it possible for the user to generate reports about important “things” in his life and at the same time find out more about the “things” from other users. Furthermore the app received numerous awards including one for its newly-developed context engine.
